Why I write
I don’t want to just accept that. I want to understand how the technologies behind it work, where their weaknesses and challenges lie, and I want to understand how to fix them.
Writing helps me do that: it makes me look more closely, ask questions, play with ideas, and describe topics in my own way. It helps me sort through my knowledge and piece by piece decipher the big puzzle.
Code, Tea & Domains - a small collection of numbers
What happens when you combine curiosity, tech stuff, and a certain weakness for domains.
Tabs open. At least. Always.
Created digital Advent calendars for my website visitors. Hopefully again this year🎄!
Domains registered – 90% of them deregistered. (Fortunately.)
Tried out programming languages. Fluent? Well, sort of. But we had something.
Enrolled at universities, with a degree (B.Sc.), the next one is coming!
Hashes, tokens, passwords. I'm ready.
really wild domain (mixedpickels.*) – don't ask...
Cups of green tea per day. At least. No coffee, no compromise.
Tested note-taking tools and dismissed them again. Current favorite: Obsidian.
Artnight paintings created. Code is not my only canvas.
Forklift license. I can do more than just debug.
Thinking out loud without having to be loud.
What else?
Professionally, I have been working as an academic staff member at a university since mid-2024, an exciting career change after many years in the private sector. With the move to the public sector and research, I am pursuing a clear goal: to find answers to the many questions that come to mind about current developments in AI.
That’s why I recently started studying artificial intelligence (M.Sc.) part-time at a distance-learning university. It’s another step on my journey to truly understand how AI and all the technologies behind it work. And how we can not only use them, but also help shape them responsibly.
Because I believe that if many of us are already using these applications today, but very few understand what is really behind them, who will be able to deal with the challenges of these technologies tomorrow?
This blog is not an official university project.
It is my personal space: a digital think tank, a playground for thoughts, and a place where I can solve technical puzzles. At my own pace, with lots of fun and without external pressure.
Cool projects
A small collection of projects that have meant a lot to me because they were really fun, because I grew from them, or because they won awards.
And this is just the beginning: soon you’ll also find my first data science / AI experiments here.
Symphony of Luminous Motion
A Glimpse into the Future of Classical Concerts What if a classical concert didn’t just fill a room with sound, but also with light,…
A place for technology, perspective,
and the big questions in between.
Why "Code & Value"?
The title of my blog is more than just a play on words.
Code refers to my daily (and future) work with Python, Data Science, and Machine Learning. It also signifies a Code of Conduct – addressing the ethical standards by which we create and apply technology.
Value denotes the values we assign within our code, but equally the core values we uphold, such as transparency, accountability, and curiosity.
Code & Value embodies my belief: technology and ethics must go hand in hand.
